Appointments To Further Technology, Sales and Marketing Goals
SCOTTS VALLEY, CALIF. – September 8, 2008 – Multigig Inc., a technology leader in next generation clock and timing solutions, today announced the appointment of three new executives to the Multigig management team. The new hires, Ali Wehbi as vice president of product and application engineering, Scott Gardner as marketing director and Stewart Speed as sales director, all have extensive experience in the semiconductor clock and timing market and have demonstrated superior performance in previous positions
With the closing of $12.5 Million in venture funding earlier this year, Multigig aggressively began recruiting top talent to support the company in reaching its product and sales goals. The new additions signify a shift in the company as it moves from a technology company to a company delivering top-tier products with a strong sales team.
"Multigig has a first-rate engineering team that has developed a world-class technology. We have spent a lot of time looking for the right executives to execute on the product and sales aspects in a way that fully realizes our very large market potential -- we required not only semiconductor experience specific to clock and timing, but also a clear demonstration of accomplishment through innovation and leadership in previous roles," said Haris Basit, president and CEO, Multigig.
Ali Wehbi has over 20 years of leading-edge semiconductor industry experience in analog/mixed signal IC design for communications, networking and timing products. Prior to coming to Multigig, Mr. Wehbi was VP of design engineering at Mobius Microsystems. He has held director of engineering positions at industry leading companies including ARM and Cypress Semiconductor. Mr. Wehbi has held senior analog design positions at AMD, IDT and AMCC.
Scott Gardner has over twenty years of experience in the development and marketing of integrated circuits for clock and timing, Bluetooth, WLAN, VOIP, mass storage, automotive, telecom, and consumer applications. Mr. Gardner has held senior marketing and consulting positions with Integrated Circuit Systems (ICS), Inphi, Oki, and Siliconix. While at Integrated Circuit Systems, Mr. Gardner was instrumental in growing the consumer clock business over five times its original size in 2 years to $80M while developing over 100 new products.
Stewart Speed comes to Multigig from Integrated Device Technology (IDT), where he was strategic account manager and responsible for supporting and driving revenue at the company’s largest customer, Cisco Systems. Prior to his work as strategic account manger, Speed worked for several years at the company as a field application engineer where he was responsible for increasing design wins and revenue within his territory.
